Gun Free Preschool Zones in Elgin

I can't believe that this is even a thought in a Suburban Neighborhood. I'm appalled. The entire student body of Otter Creek lives here. Come on....find a safer place away from children.

I can't believe there is not a more suitable location for the gun range. What happened to the law & the gun range by the DMV. Why can't that be used.

This location is too close to the community college and a busy residential area. Vote NO.

Find another place please, not by children!

A gun shop should not be located in a residential area, for a myriad of reasons. This area in particular is ill suited for a gun range - from foot traffic, to parking, to it's proximity to the community college and the preschools. Elgin has plenty of industrial areas and more remote empty buildings that would be better suited for this kind of establishment. Please VOTE NO.

Keep the areas around U-46 Schools & Easter Seals Treatment Center a "Gun Free" zone.

I work at the PreSchool at the Easter Seals Building. Plus I live near by. This kind of business does not belong there. City of Elgin please vote NO!!!

I agree bad location.

While some may not consider a preschool a school when it comes to the law and the allowance of a gun range, we should remember that there are small children and the adults that care for them nearby. This proposed location is unfit for a gun range and store due to its proximity to a preschool, the Easter Seals, and the surrounding homes. As a homeowner in the subdivision, I do not want this business near my children. There are many other empty buildings in Elgin that could better house this business.

This is not an appropriate place for a shooting range....too close to schools and other community related establishments.

I feel that gun range would be better in a commerical neighborhood.

NO gun store & range in ELGIN!

A fun range should not be located so close to Elgin community college, a preschool, Easter Seals or community recreational fields. A location should identified that is removed from schools.

There is a place for gun shops, but not by schools and a residential neighborhood. Vote no! Uphold the will of the people, not interests of a couple individual businessmen.

This just saddens me that as a homeowner who has lived here in College Green for approx 24 years, the voice of gun enthusiasts speaks louder and above the voice of the people who live here. Something is wrong here.

I am against this business in this location as I live 1/2 block away and do not want to deal with the sounds of guns or air filters, or with more crime and traffic in my neighborhood.

This is a no-brainer! Every target range has possibly loaded guns and many concealed carry - and Aurora just had a robbery at the local gun store/range that may have been gang related. Is the Elgin City Counsel out of their mind. NO!!! No guns near schools. Find another place!
