Final supporters
The purpose for this petition is to make the laws surrounding gun control more strict. In doing so we can make it so America is no longer the only first world country with so many yearly deaths against innocent people from gun violence. With the existence of the Second Amendment, it is not possible to eradicate the right of citizens of the United States to be allowed to bear arms. With all the data collected annually on this topic, it is undisputed that at the very least it needs to be more difficult for anyone to obtain a gun. Congress really needs to reconsider the current laws considering that the Bill of Rights was ratified in 1791, and with each passing year guns become more lethal and should not be allowed in the hands of just anybody.

SO TRUE. things have changed since 1791 and we need to update our laws to reflect that.
Enough is enough. My kids should be able to go to school without me worrying about this stuff every day.
I agree in our fundamental right to bear arms both for protection and hunting but for it to be regulated responsibly in a manner that allows for safety to always be paramount in ensuring weapons do not end up in the wrong hands. Proper waiting periods and safety requirements/screenings should be without a doubt a requirement. (& good job boys!!)

I agree!! More strict Gun laws need to be enforced. More background checks etc... This Petition has influenced me to do more research on gun control.

Background checks just make common sense. Everyone should have to pass one no excuses.
