Please reconsider this decision. The fluoride in our water is an important part of a persons dental health. And at a cost of only 0.33 cents per person per year, it is not as expensive as trying to provide prescriptions to all who will be missing out on this.

Does the water authority add chlorine to the water supply? If they do to prevent intestinal bacterial infections , then what difference is fluoride to prevent oral bacterial infections? Stop the chlorine also and see what the community response would be with an outbreak of dysentery. We have these tools to prevent disease . We also have common sense to use them correctly. The water authority should use some common sense.

Removing flouride from the water source is going to be very detrimental to the residents especially the children. I strongly suggest this decision be reversed.

This is horrendous. I cannot believe Guilford Water would even think about taking fluoride out of the water. It has been shown for many years to be beneficial for children's teeth.

The Guilford Water authority should have notified its customers by sending the fluoride notice with water bill not just in public opinion. Not everyone gets the paper.

Please reconsider your decision to remove the fluoride from the water in your area. I am a public dental hygienist in this area. I work exclusively with children and the results of removing the fluoride from the water would adversely affect the dental health of the children in your community. The benefits of fluoride have been proven. I have seen these benefits personally. Children who have access to the benefits of fluoridated water have less tooth decay and healthier stronger teeth for a lifetime. Do what is best for the children in your area and keep the water fluoridated.
This would be a foolish decision.
