Establish Human Rights Commission in Guilford

We are a group of Guilford residents that have come together in response to recent acts of local vandalism, including destruction of the Sensory Garden at Roses for Autism, racist graffiti, and the damage to/theft of many Welcome Neighbor lawn signs. We feel that it is important to act now to prevent any further harm to our community. Our primary goal is to establish a Commission on Human Rights, which will promote Guilford as a safe space for its residents and visitors, and create a welcoming presence in our town. We seek to ensure mutual respect, tolerance, and acceptance of all people, regardless of race, gender, ethnicity, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, age, health status, or ability.
We, the undersigned, are concerned residents who urge our leaders to establish a Human Rights Commission in our Town Charter.
