As a young child, my mother, brother and I rode on the River Road from Clifton Terrace to Grafton and back. We were always careful. We flowed with traffic. How many times have drivers hit the guard rail and been lucky not to hit a pedestrian or biker. Safety should be a main concern.

This makes perfect sense to give the cyclists some extra protection. Accidents happen, but a cyclist has paid the ultimate price for a driver's unfortunate mistake.

Grafton is growing because of tourist. Many people enjoy the bike trails and I think it's important to make it as safe as possible.

A guardrail should have already been in place. Sad that lives are lost due to the neglect of safety due to cost. Illinois needs to consider spending funds on necessary things for the general public rather than spending excessively on things that cater to the rich. Just saying since I have lived for 17 years in the south and they spend funds more for the general public.

please add this guardrail to keep all bicyclists and drivers safe.
I do not ride on the river side because of this reason. It is not safe.

I think this is a great idea and should have been implemented long ago, especially on highly traveled roads.

Bluff side path maintenance would also keep cyclists that head west toward the river road off of the shoulder.
