Last time I checked we live in United States of America and this is not what is supposed to happen! We as Americans will not stand back and watch this happen anymore!

A Shelter is to shelter and protect and anyone who works or volunteers there has to be compassionate and love Animals and get them any medical care they need, no matter what !!!

The shelter needs new management asap! They are always in the spotlight for their unethical and immoral practices. How dare they treat living creatures like this? They are trying to be no kill, yet have not worked towards it at all!

The citizens of Manatee County were intentionally misled by the staff and the self-appointed Animal Commissioner, who also serves on the BOCC. The save rate was inflated each month due to the deceptive practice of sending companion animals from MCAS to the county vet to be killed. The animals sent to the county vet to be killed were never counted when the Director of MCAS calculated the monthly save rate. Both the shelter manager and the supervisor of Animal Control Officers were aware of this dishonest practice. That supervisor of Animal Control Officers is now the acting director of MCAS. This person should have been fired, NOT promoted. The helpless, homeless pets need the community to demand an end to the deceit,the lack of compassion, and the callous killings (frequently via heart stick) of pets.

Insanatee County- Your "pro-kill", "faux no-kill" animal services may result in a massive boycott. There are many more places to vacation/relocate than one with so little respect for animal welfare!

Manatee County has failed to implement its own policies and has not demanded accountability of its own staff. For yrs., the staff has consistently failed to provide humane care nor have they adequately applied and/or enforced animal neglect/abuse statues and county ordinances.

Everything stated here is true. We all demand that effective changes are implemented immediately, or we will have to change those responsible, including the commissioners.
