This appears to be an outrageous abuse of power by the GTHL against a AA hockey team of 15year-olds. Incompetence and arrogance! Fix the problem GTHL and do the right thing.

Come on GTHL! Communicate with this team and be transparent about the consequence. Why won't you speak to the media?! Stop the goon mentality in hockey. Please work respectively with this team.

The league should have picked up this error long before it got to this point and if needed, help the organization with any trouble they were having properly registering the training.

Dont punish kids for administrative errors that they have no control over or input in.

Kids shouldn't be punished from playing a sport they love for clerical mistakes made by adults. The league should have caught that mistake BEFORE hitting the ice. Shame on them!

Considering that this oversight had no bearing on any game outcome, this is an unjust and vindictive penalty with no merit. The GTHL is not protecting the most essential part of their organization, the players! The leaders must step up and protect the players, focus on what is right, and not enforce minor technicalities with unjust penalties that have no bearing on game outcomes.

Don’t punish kids for an adult error

As the president of a minor hockey association this is an unacceptable penalty imposed on these players. Punish the staff if need be but do not punish the players for the hard work they put in throughout the season. How did the organization not recognize this earlier and make the required corrections?

Absolutely appalled that innocent kids (and their parents - who have invested money and time) are being penalized for an error made by an adult.

my sons are all in their 20's now but we went through the GTHL and our teams were also affected by stupid rules of the GTHL - one of our parents missed a payment on their fees and at the end of the season, when our team was destined for the playoffs had 4 wins taken away from us and thus, did not make the playoffs. What does that have to do with playing hockey? what does a parent, who was in a bad financial situation, have to do with the kids skill in reaching the playoffs? the answer is NOTHING. Some paperwork/accounting issues made by NONE of the U14 team players pushed them out of playoffs. The GTHL made this decision. Our team tried to fight this with no luck. It is crazy that the GTHL makes the kids suffer for paperwork errors.

This is an unfortunate administrative mistake that should result in a fine to the association and not a penalty to the players! It’s not like they used an ineligible player.
