Be kind. It is unfair to the players if they cannot play.

These positions on youth hockey teams are voluntary! As a manager for a girls rep team, the hoops that people need to jump through to just to volunteer and support a team is insane! This had to have been a simple over sight that really should be fixed immediately! This is ridiculous that a team of young players is being punished. The trainer on the bench, certified or not, doe not changed how the team competed on the ice! I wholeheartedly support this petition.

Unfair issue that the kids had no part in, so why punish them?

I understand rules are rules but there are exceptions to every rule if anything suspend the manager of the team but the kids worked hard to achieve a common goal they deserve better.

As someone who spent over 30 years volunteering for a GTHL club I find this decision arbitrary and completely unfair to the players. It should be reversed.

This seems like an unjust outcome to these young hockey players, my vote is to let them play and show grace!

I cannot imagine the heartbreak these young men are going through. This is such a hard handed punishment and should be overturned. These boys have clearly earned their spot. In the statement by the GTHL, they stated “ These requirements and processes are put in place to protect children and youth.” It seems however that they are intent on punishing the boys that they claim to want to protect.

Overturn this! This has nothing to do with 16 year old kids. Hockey is political enough. Keep the kids out of it, let them play!

Players should not be penalized for a mistake that had nothing to do with them. Shame on you GTHL!!

Let’s have some compassion for a simple human error in paperwork and not punish those who love and breathe the game. Remember these are make or break moments, where we have an opportunity to teach kids that in life mistakes happen. How those in power respond to situations like this will not only shape their perception of the world for better or worse, but ultimately define the type of adults they will become in the future.

This punishment on the boys in the team is very unfair. The team has paid the fine and the coach served the suspension. How does punishing the boys incentivize them to play hockey in this league again. Poor-show GTHL
