The loss of private mileage affects most GSH van drivers in many ways. Many engineers are unable to purchase and run another vehicle especially at such short notice. The storage of the company vehicle also becomes problematic with the addition of a further personal vehicle. If the problem is admin due to tax forms, the solution the company has put forward should be across the whole GSH fleet not just the engineers. It should include managers, supervisors etc. It's just an insult to the engineers to send a letter suggesting that this is to benefit them when we all know it's financial and penny pinching. The company is making cut back after cut back, leaving engineers stretched. To a lot of the engineers, the use of the company van is a big perk making up for the average wage.
