Dear Cr Johnston, I, the undersigned, support the establishment of a Graceville / Sherwood Community Garden in Faulkner Park (Graceville), in the house block directly adjacent to 79 Waratah Avenue. Due to the proposed site's proximity to local schools and kindergartens, community groups, and other Brisbane City Council facilities, I believe a garden at this location will help to: - Strengthen community and families through gardening activity, - Educate children and others in the community about sustainability, - Beautify the suburb, and - Be easily accessible to pedestrians, people using wheelchairs and with limited mobility, and cyclists. For these reasons I support the establishment of this community garden.

The Graceville / Sherwood Community Garden Planning Group was established following the Brisbane City Council's Neighbourhood Planning process for the Graceville, Tennyson, Chelmer, Sherwood and Corinda area.
One of the key things that local residents said they wanted in this area was a community garden. The Planning Group hopes to establish a community garden that will engage community and families in sustainability and education through gardening activity.
