High cost of living in Central Florida is impossible to live in Florida. This is evident with the turn around that we have in ORMC of professional workers leaving the system or moving out to a different VA for example Tampa, Bay Pines VA have a higher pay than Orlando and GS scale for Med Tech.

Orlando VA Medical Center is Ranked #2 for VA Care. In 2023 our Health Insurance Benefits will be increasing along with everything else in the Central Florida. Please help us.

There is a growing veteran population in Central Florida (nearly 400,000), with younger veterans (>65y/o) seeking to live in Orlando as one of the most veteran friendly cities in the US for veterans to live. The VA will require more nurses to care for these veterans overall. The hope of increasing locality pay will not only attract new nurses but will keep existing nurses.

Nursing pay in Orlando has been behind the curve for years. Our last increase doesn't come close to matching inflation. The housing crisis we face in Orlando makes it nearly impossible to afford housing to work here. Urging you to advocate for your constituents.
