Our Bay Heights streets, sidewalks, lawns and driveways are full of fecal matter. Our cars are scratched and roof tiles are damaged. We pay high taxes to live in a neighborhood with fierce and destructive peafowl!!!

A group of residents from Bay Heights met with Regalado and other city officials in Coconut Grove about two years ago. No action. Peacock population is increasing unchecked each year. The estimated number is greater than 300. Need to report the problem to the Health Department.

They have been destructive to my property, attacked my wifey with my new born son, run on my roof top at night waking me up, terrible sounds. If I have known this wouldn’t have moved to this lovely place minutes the peafowl.
Something needs to be done about it!

Live directly on the Coral Gables border with Coconut Grove and they have become extremely populous in our area as well. They have been found on top of cars in the immediate area and have have also left a lot of feaces in the area....

I believe the most humane thing is to set up feeding stations with some sort of sterilization feed so they aren’t hurt. They are beautiful but very destructive.

This is not an issue of protecting an endangered species. The overpopulation has impacted the quality of life in the Grove. They are destroying property and present a threat to our health and the health of our pets. Dog's eat feces, and it is not always possible to see the bird feces under the flora and fauna. We need to take back our neighborhood and control this issue. It never should have gotten to this point.

The most offensive aspect of the overpopulation of the peacocks is the noise factor. It is impossible to get a goodnights sleep. At this point it is impacting our health.

I walk through the North Grove neighborhood and see evidence of some of the problems mentioned in this petition. I have seen a property with about a dozed of these large birds on the roof and in the trees. I am signing in support of my neighbors.
