A tool that is required to respond to emergency calls to the fire station for apparatus, rural areas are building up with population causing traffic , unlike in the past years.

Volunteer firefighters are entrusted to respond to emergencies. We need them to arrive as quickly as possible. Lives depend on it. If the use of a green light could help them arrive just one minute faster, this should not even be a matter of debate. Help them help us.

If it was your child or loved one that a volunteer was trying to reach would you want them stuck behind a slow moving vehicle?

I think it would be great for us volunteers.

This issue is near and dear to my heart. I miss numerous opportunities to catch a dispatched fire engine because of civilians on the roads unaware of such emergencies. I live in rural BC where manpower is already severely lacking on fire calls. Let's get this proposal mandated!

What a great idea. Our hall has members spread across many kilometers in an often tourist laiden area.

This only makes sense. I'm from Ontario and they've been doing this since 1990. Now I'm a volunteer in Woodstock NB and I'm looking in to how to challenge this.

I Hope B.C. takes this on.. There is more Volunteers here than Career FF in this province and this province needs to adapt to the GREEN LIGHT to help the Fire fighters get there more safely/ effectively!! Long over due for his simple solution. Ontario and many other Provinces are doing this !!!!Wake UP BC

As the ex-wife of a volunteer firefighter I have seen first had the amount of times that motorists do not get out of the way, impeding the response time of the volunteer firefighters. I believe that there should be changes made to the current legislation that does not allow for the use of green lights flashing that would identify a volunteer firefighter responding to an emergency.

I'm against legislation that does not allow the use of a green light which identifies a volunteer firefighter as responding to an emergency.
