Every year, the public schools of the United States consume massive amounts of energy and contribute greatly to the landfills. Public schools should have a recycling program instilled in the school, use green products, such as recycled paper and eco-friendly cleaning products, and limit the waste produced. In order for the schools to develop the necessary programs to help the environment, there will be a need for funding. We the people of the United States sign this petition to persuade the public school system to make public schools more environmentally friendly and to have the United States Government make legislation to assist with funding for necessary programs to make the public school system more environmentally firendly.
