YEP better than YOU..... YOU are a RACIST.... how does it FEEl... again RACISM.. is one group of people saying to the other group you cant believe in this. you cant dispay your believes.. Greeneville should be better and LET IT GO.... LET the people VOTE. according to POLL more wanted the flag than NOT!!! IT should be the PEOPLES decision and the majority rules.. READ history.... Greeneville was divided. half confederate half union.. but the powers that be.. Mayor. alderman was going make a pact with the confederate side. but the PEOPLE won on that one... but again THE PEOPLE today should be aloud to vote on THIS.. I for one. dont care either way... that is what the rest of you should saying .... but NO... have to bring racism to the town.. THE ones whom are protesing against by definition are the racists.... YOU cant call me a racist just because I like the flag, and want to honor my heritage and ancestors .... I wasnt born in the 60`s and I dont HATE blacks. hell Ive dated few NICE black ladies... a racist is someone whom hates blacks.. or says a group cant do this or that.. way I see it ,the people whom dont want the flag is the racists ...... plain and simple RACISM...

So all those who died .. .Died in vien?? some of you people WOULD not be here if the war didnt happen ,ever thought of that.. maybe one of your great grandfathers was saved from being KILLED. by a union soldier.. and you wouldnt be alive today.... YOU people need read history the FLAG was wasnt used as Hate until idiots in the 60s.... 90% of the confederate soldiers were fighting for a cause.. they didnt KNOW it was slavery.. added in to that. they only KNEW there land and farms were going to be taken.. so they FOUGHT.. they wasnt told it was slavery too. they was told to fight so they did.. the flag honors them black and whites... and you call people racist cause they believe it that ... Racism is preventing a group from doing something they believe in... do you NOT understand YOU saying the people cant believe the flag is positive and display it IS YOU BEING a racist.. you have become what you are calling Others... LET IT GO.. its AMERICA.. we believe it to honor our dead and history.. thats OUR RIGHT...... you believe and still wanna live in the 60s thats your right.. .BUT RACISM will keep going aslong as people protest this.. LET IT GO.. say hey we dont care.. let them fly it... and we will fly our rainbow flag, our black pride flag,,,,,,, then boom RACISM is GONE..

Confederate flag belongs in a museum. Not waving above the courthouse! Take it down now!

and while you're at it, do something about the Greene County Schools' administration.

The Confederate flag is a symbol of White supremacy, slavery, and oppression of Black people - and does not belong flying over a government building that should represent ALL the residents of a county or state. I grew up in Greeneville, TN - and if the Confederate flag flies there now, I would be ashamed to say I'm from Greene County - and I'd be outraged how local leaders and politicians allowed this hateful symbol to stand for a minority of ignorant racists.

The confederate flag has no place on a court house, particularly in an area that opposed the secession. I find the fact a county commissioner here wants to put it there embarrassing. I do not want my hometown in the news for something like this - it is ignorant at best.

This is not our flag. It doesn't represent our history.

If it offends people and it wasn't even a thought to put it up until the big controversy about it in SC why put it up now? To offend people?

I will be ashamed of my home county if this flag is raised at the Courthouse.

It is so distasteful/shameful for an elected official to have the audacity to support something that is not a correlation to what he claimed to be "heritage". For years, the Confederate flag has had direct ties to nothing but hate/prejudice. How could someone in authority overlook the hurt/pain/negativity that the Confederate flag represents for an entire race of people? Randolph stated the flag doesn't represent racism to him, but he's not motioning to have the flag flown on his private property at his home, but instead he's trying to have it flown in a public place; therefore, his personal opinion is obsolete. It's the opinion of the people that should matter. It sickens me that amidst the controversy the flag has recently caused, we have a commissioner attempting to have it flown publicly. This is a prime example of why the hate divide in America will never be improved. Commissioner, how about using your elected position to find solutions for the countie's real issues such as the unemployment rate, drug abuse & education as opposed to creating another major issue?

I think it is wrong to use a public place to make a personal opinion stand, forcing the confederate flag and all the motives and thoughts involved with flying said flag, onto those of us who do not agree with what it stands for. In an effort to strengthen states rights, those wanting to put the confederate flag on our courthouse, are taking away the rights of some of us by forcing us to do something we dont agree with. Doing wrong to prevent wrong is wrong.

Greeneville what is wrong with you. As someone that was raised in Greeneville you are better than this. That flag has no place anymore it's been corrupted by bigots it's not a sign of Southern pride any more. You may as well fly the swastika and fight that it was once a sign of hope.

Being a northerner who lived here for 10 years, there is a serious divide. This is disgusting! Learn to be united not divided.

Dont do it Greene County, please don't make the courthouse into a circus. Many vehicles already look like a mobile United Nations rolling around with all the flags, keep it out of there. This is ridiculous

I like to start off by saying we all have rights and opinions in my opinion the Confederate flag should not be flown at our courthouse. If you want to fly it on your vehicle that is your right. I think that we have more problems in this town then flying a flag. What about the roads? They are awful but we still had an increase of tags and land taxes. SHOW ME THE MONEY! !!!! What about the drug problem? I can prove there's nothing being done about it. The biggest problem is unemployment. Why are there no jobs? Its called the good old boys group. The good old boys will not let other jobs come into this town. Yet they wonder why we don't shop local. One other thing. There isn't anything in this town to do. Granted we do have a few people working on that. Remember there are bigger problems in this town then flying the Confederate flag at the courthouse. Stop making us the laughing stock of the country.
