Dear Green Day / Reprise Records / Promoters - Shalom, We, the Israeli Green Day fans, would like to thank you for sharing your talents with us through your music over the years. Many of us have been following your career for several years now and some have also been lucky enough to have witnessed your talents firsthand, during your recent and older tours. We know that one of the main reasons that most rock artists don't come to Israel is because of the situation here, which has been blown out of proportion by the international media and we must admit thing were difficult the last couple of years. However, things have changed. It is actually quiet around here, for once, and what better a time than a quiet one to come and make some noise Us, Israeli fans and people here in general, need that sort of thing to lift our spirits every once in a while. Although Green Day wouldn't be the first amazing rock show to perform to Israel - we had some great artists here such as Roger Waters, paul mccartney and later on this year leonard cohen is going to perform , there still aren't many rock shows around here, so every show attracts a massive audience of rock fans from all over the country that can not fly abroad to see these great acts. The last and most important reason of all is, as small as this country is, there has always been a large Green Day fans community here who grew rapidly with the release of American Idiot (the most controversial album that has changed so many lives with the powerfull lyrics it possesses). Many of these fans opened similar petitions in the past. Some actually go across the globe, literally, to see Green Day shows - flying over to places like the US and Europe. Besides, with all these great live performances we see online(and drooling as we see it or hear about it), you can't really blame us for wanting this so badly, as the list below proves.
