Dear Mayor Cieslewicz, We are a group of concerned Madison citizens with an interest in our community\'s long term energy security. After reviewing the 2004 Building a Green Capitol City Blueprint, we would like to request any updates on how the city is proceeding toward the goals outlined in the document. We are especially interested in information on the following points: According to the Plan, the Utility Infrastructure Committee recommended that the City government set a goal of purchasing 10% of its annual electrical energy from renewable sources by 2006, and 20% by 2010. What % of the city\'s annual electrical energy is currently purchased from renewable sources What is the plan for reaching the 20% goal by 2010 It was also recommended that the City issue a Clean Energy Challenge to city residents, urging them to purchase renewable power from their utility with the goal of persuading 5% of city residents to buy renewable power and having 2% of the entire community\'s electricity purchased from renewable sources.
