As an Edmonton born son living in Hamilton, I wholeheartedly support this petition. I have had many a green onion cake, starting with the legendary Mongolian Food Experience on Rice Howard Way, and now I make my own regularly to remind me of home.

Great reasons as to why it should be proclaimed as official food of Edmonton.

Would much prefer my GOC eating to show civic pride, rather than just gluttony.

I enjoy a green onion cake with the spicy sauce so I support your drive to recognize this carby, glutenous wonder as our civic dish!

An Edmonton festival is identified by its food and the green onion cake is the food that I most look forward to!

I told the volunteers at the Fringe Festival in Calgary that it IS NOT a Fringe without green onion cakes. They had no clue what I was talking about...

It's not an Asian thing, but an Edmonton thing. You can't find green onion cake even in dim sum restaurants outside of Edmonton.
