I'm not a woman, but I am a Green Party member. I also have a wife, daughters and grandaughter who continue to depend on single sex spaces.

There is a reason for safe spaces for women. It's not transphobic to want to keep them safe.

Biological sex is immutable. Women and girls have for millennia and across the world been oppressed because of our biological sex. To conflate 'gender' with 'sex' and pretend that sex does not exist is disingenuous and is a colonisation upon women - by men. To think that women are - yet again - being forced into submitting to what men demand that we believe, think and say (pronouns ... ugh) is tantamount to taking a million steps backwards in terms of progress for women. The Greens need to wake up to the dangerous ideology that is the Transgenderism and see it for what it is. Transgenderism of today is homophobic, misogynistic, sexist rubbish and must be utterly denounced. Pretending that men in frocks are actually women is a lie and does absolutely nothing to help the plight of women around the world progress their personal and social equity.

This issue made me resign my Green membership. If you represent my daughter and my billions of sisters I'll be back. At present, you don't

It is not anti trans to be concerned at the erosion of women’s sex based rights.

Women need access to sex-based rights and protections, because women and girls are oppressed on the basis of SEX, not identity.

Never did I think that in the 21st century, in a developed western culture, women and girls would have their hard won rights so threatened.

Our sex-based rights are just that - sex based rights. My foremothers fought and indeed many died (& continue to do so) in order that other women and girls in different times and places could also enjoy these rights. I refuse to remain silent and usher in a world where my daughter will enjoy less freedom and rights that I and even my grandmothers have had. Respecting the rights of one group cannot and should not be at the expense of the rights of other marginalised groups. Courage calls to courage everywhere. This crazy rollback of women’s rights is not exclusive to the Green Party. It’s happening in all of the opposition parties (not sure that it’s happening in the Tory party though - interesting that...) But as a Green Party members I will not be endorsing or voting for any green candidate or policy that doesn’t recognise or respect the sex-based rights of women and girls...

Come on Greens, you understand science, you understand oppression. I won't vote for a party which doesn't support women's rights to safe and separate spaces.
