We, as professionals in the entertainment industry, and as fans of live performance, support the insertion in the House of Lords of Clause 33 of the Consumer Rights Bill, which aims to increase transparency in the event ticket resale market, and call on the Government and the House of Commons to approve said Clause.

We also support changes to the law in other areas that are aimed at stopping touts from profiting.

Updates

January 8, 2015

Reaching this level of support confirms that the call for fair access to live events resonates deeply with people across the country. It is encouraging to see such a broad consensus forming around the necessity of transparency in the ticket market. This momentum gives us a clear mandate to bring our concerns directly to the authorities who have the power to enact change.

As the Bill currently stands, it fails consumers and continues to allow profteering by those whose only interest is making money.
