As residents of North Hill Avenue, Howe Road, Fuller Brook Avenue, and Mackintosh Avenue, we are opposed to the proposed chicken coop at 1560 Great Plain Avenue. Our neighborhood abuts North Hill and Conservation/Wetlands where known chicken predators live and have been seen throughout the neighborhood. We are concerned that the presence of these predators will increase if a chicken coop is allowed. This will create an unsafe and unhealthy environment for our families and pets.

We are concerned about a potential negative effect on our property values and the marketability of our neighborhood.

Last but not least, we are concerned that chicken predators could also make their way to the Newman Elementary School fields and playground.

I am very worried about chicheks attracting cyotes and other wildlife which already are in and around our neighborhood. this land abuts the land next to Newman School. What would we do if one small child was hurt by a cyote. Are frewesh eggs worth that risk. Also where does all the fecal waste go in the ewet lands?

I am against the chicken coop. I am concerned about the proximity of the property to Newman Elementary School. There is a potential for danger to kids on the playground if the chickens draw predators such as coyotes.

No decision will be made until meeting in January. We will be given proper notification. Courtney wants four very small birds in a closed coop! John Bulian came and will follow up on our concerns about coyotes with the animal control dept. If they say there is not increased risk of attracting coyotes etc. I am hopeful that our concerns will be decreased. I do not believe that where the coop will be should have any impact on real estate values. John Bulian will contact Brenda with updates He was great. You are free to call me at 617-285-1900.
