Just finished the documentary. Was he wrong for what he did? Definitely, no questions asked. Does what he did make him a pedophile? Certainly; a 14 yo girl is still a child. However, is Tanya's story even remotely believable? Hell no. Is it really possible that a 24 yo woman could've made this all up and gotten people put in jail if it weren't true? Of course, it happens all the time.

He should rot in jail for what he did to a CHILD. He was more than twice her age and should have sent her straight home or called the authorities. He manipulated this young lady, regardless of her past. At the very least he should do his 15 years. Chances are he will prey on another child as soon as he is released.

After studying information concerning this case; I don't believe Mr Hose is a pedophile and besides this one incident, there is no pattern of that behavior. He was working at a Middle school setting at the time of his arrest, which would've provided him a ready supply of victims, yet he never took advantage of this. So I believe he used horrible judgement a t that time. His motives may have been sincere but judgement was off.

The only thing Tom is guilty of is not encouraging Tanya to go home to her family. Tanya was a 14 year old having come through a parental split and then her Mum basically gave up on her and Dad tried his best, watching the doco I cannot help but feel the step mum showed Tanya no love hence Tanya running away etc, Then Tanya found a figure which reminded her of a Dad/Boyfriend and I have no doubt she put her trust in him and he genuinely cared and they both had a very physical attraction to one another. Wake up people 14 year old girls have very sexual urges, and I believe Tanya left home to run away from all her troubles with someone she wanted to be with. I believe she was mixed up in her head and probably even enjoyed her new life with Tom because he cared so much for her she had no intention of running. As the years went by I think she got bored because she wanted Tom to marry her and go in to the big wide world together, it is plain to see he tried to keep her happy by giving her more freedom, but soon it became not enough and she decided she wanted to reappear and I feel her and Tom had a big disagreement he maybe even had other women, whatever it was she turned on him and wanted to hurt him hence her getting to know the family who revealed her whereabouts, were the first ones she used to help get her version of events out. I scrutinized this doco and what I was seeing was a scared, insecure, hurt young lady who had her fantasy blown up and decided it was time to cry wolf, she wanted Tom to marry her and show her of to the world...and can you blame her...no. I feel for Tanya very much, she was naive and really loved this man and I believe still does. Release the man and let them both get on with life. Let me just say 14 year old girls are much more grown up and capable of decisions than what people give them credit for.

Dee tilbury, I didn't call you one personally. My point was you are not a psych therapist to "tell" she is lying. A more plausible explanation is a child of 13 or 14 years old telling the story of what happened 10+ years on is bound to present some inconsistencies. It's not all black and white. Again, if you were not or never have been in this situation it's easy to say that. You should ALWAYS assume a child is telling the truth unless proven otherwise, which didn't happen! Trying to help her? You're insane! It's called GROOMING. WHAT MIDDLE AGED MEN KISSES A 14 year old unless he is a paedophile? The fact you say consensual sex with a minor is a nice way of saying "hi I'm a paedophile ". Please! They are not capable of making that decision. It's a sick sick individual who thinks otherwise. Shitting in a bucket, away from anything and everyone, developing OCD, missing all your milestones in young adulthood, yeahhhh sure sounds like payback to mr. Get a clue!

He shouldn't of had sex with her no, but, she also consented. Really,i say keep him in jail. People like him CANNOT be rehabilitated. You ask how i know,well i was in prison for burglary & seen first hand how pedophiles act in prison, away from the public eyes, and let me tell you they are disgusting, sick people. Not to mention the fact that he received much less time than i did. Mr. Hose is where he belongs & should stay there unless Mceesport wants rapist/pedophile on their streets.
