Help Humanitarian Psychologist Dr Abu-Tawahina of Gaza get right of passage

Over recent years there have been several reports by independent groups on the condition of Palestinian mental health under brutal military occupation and racist attacks, especially the inhumane treatment of children. This cannot be condoned by civilised nations so all must be done to change the attitude of the political community to hold Israel to account.

It is crucial that specialists in the field of working with the short and long term consequences of armed conflict have freedom of movement in order to share their experience and ideas internationally.

Dr Abu-Tawahina's knowledge and skills must be communicated to the world by himself personally

I whole -heartedly support this petition. For a man of this stature to have difficulty obtaining a visa is outrageous.

It is just unthinkable that this person has no freedom of movement.

When you do good, good shall be rewarded.

The expertise of gifted health professionals such as Dr. Abu-Tawahina is essential for improved understanding of the psychological impact of conflict and trauma on children and will facilitate the development of programs and improved understanding throughout the Middle East and beyond. I respectfully join those who urge he be granted a travel visa.

I have worked closely with Dr. Tawahina for twenty-five years. He is an outstanding practitioner and a credit to the Arab world. Please allow him to educate fellow practitioners worldwide on the psychological effects of the Israeli siege of Gaza.

This man is trying only to do good, to right wrongs, to support a beleaguered people - he should be granted right of passage - a significant number of people sharing humanitarian beliefs are watching to see what transpires - be seen to do the right thing!
