I believe it is unfair in the hot summer months for girls to be forced to wear clothes in which they are not comfortable in just to cover up their shoulders and legs. We are not able to wear the clothing desired to be comfortable while learning, why is it when guys wear muscle tanks with their nipples basically popping out they are not dress coded but we cannot even wear a simple spaghetti strap. Different girls have different lengths of arms too so girls with long arms are forced to wear jeans during the hot summer because there are no alternative options. I for one cannot wear shorts because I am tall and my arms are longer than others and I see other girls with shorter arms wearing shorts and they can get away with it because their arm length goes with the rules. I believe the system is unfair, I'm not saying there shouldn't be rules but the rules implicated at the moment are very unfair towards different girls. We should be able to wear clothing that corresponds with the weather.

you've got to admit, there is something terribly wrong with a 50/30 year old man staring at my friends chest for several minutes to tell if her shirt might be see-through or stare at my stomach to tell if my mid-drift appears. Plus the countless times that they make us late to class because they're telling us that by allowing boys a "distraction free environment", is more important than our education

You can make the argument that people in other schools across the country have no desire to wear inappropriate clothes which is correct. Our requests are not inappropriate. Just like it is appropriate to wear 3 layers in 40 degree weather, it is appropriate to wear shorts and a tank top in 100 degree weather. Stop the uneccessary suffering.

Girls should be able to wear leggings and on hot days shorts. If guys can wear tank tops, girls should also be able to tank tops

Allow hats and beanies! But make a rule that they can't have gang signs and stuff like that.
I also agree with letting us wear ripped jeans. There's no way you're gunna see anything on any girl unless the rip is right near her special area.
Spaghetti straps/halter tops/tank tops should be allowed during hot days.

ripped jeans don't interrupt education, yoga pants don't interfere with learning. let us be comfortable and wear as we please, don't make us apologize for people whom can't control themselves.

Im a senior here, and in all of my four years being here Ive only been able to wear shorts to school once. And even with my dress code appropriate shorts, they tried to dresscode me. Something needs to change. Stores and companies do not physically make shorts aimed towards teenage girls that are of that length, and are not something that girls would want to wear. Also I will never understand how my shoulders, a small circle of my thigh (ripped jeans) will ever be that offensive and provactive to someone that an authority figure will seek me out and follow me in the hall to reprimand me, shame me, and give me a punishment. Im tired of wearing pants and a t shirt in 95°-110° weather.

and also if we can have ripped jeans and to wear shorts after a certain degrees of it's too hot like checking the weather before hand or something or to wear shorts to or to show shoulders and mid riff

I only get to wear a small perentage of my clothes to school. Just t-shirts and pants. It's frustrating as it is but when the weather gets hot, It's just cruel. Spaghetti straps and halter tops should be allowed. Also, there's nothing wrong with a couple inches of midriff for a school enviroment. Many of us have tops like that. Small holes in jeans on our thighs shouldn't be problem. The length requirement for shorts should be up to our thumbs or at the least, fingertips. No one owns shorts that are an inch past our fingertips.

I think some of the things we should get rid of for dress code is ripped jeans because I honestly don't see how that distracting or inappropriate, most stores sell more of ripped jeans. Also I think girls should be allowed to wear leggings and shorts unless the shorts are showing your butt or the leggings are see through because when it starts getting closer to summer, all girls can wear is pants because the shorts store sell are too short for the dress code requirements.
