There has been a student at MVMS in the eighth grade that has been dealing with cancer for the entire year. He/she has kept this a secret and have been so strong. They would like to reveal the fact that they have been sick at graduation in a minute long speech. The administration has denied this request because they believe it is unfair to the other students who have gone through the graduation speech competition process. He/she knew that everyone would find out if they went through the graduation speech process, so they were hesitant to do so because they thought for the last week of school all they would get is pity. We understand where the administration is coming from, but we believe that this it's unfair after all they've gone through and been strong enough to not reveal it, that they can't speak at graduation. They can't hold this secret on their shoulders any longer. Please sign this petition to allow their speech to be given at graduation and reveal what they've been so strong dealing with.
