There are no arguements that stand up to reason which can justify the decisions made by the school to restrict the freedom of choice of it’s students. It is utterly insulting that we have been deemed incompetent by the administration that runs this school and fully calls into question the legitimacy of their authority. This decision may only directly influence a single issue, but it also reveals the underlying agenda, philosophy, and way in which the faculty and administration view the students of North Attleboro High School as well as their approach to education. This incident will therefore most likely be only the first of many and unless each is fought with substantial opposition, North Attleboro High School will slowly cease to be recognizable in coming years, and, contrary to what some will try and tell you, not for the better. As students, we must stay vigilant, stick to what we know to be true, and speak our minds despite any potential consequences for doing so. The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good people to do nothing.

I feel that the tradition of the boys wearing red and the girls wearing white should continue at NAHS!!!

The school colors are red and white. Let’s uphold tradition and wear both colors.

We are sick of being ignored and we want to stop feeling like our opinions don’t mean anything.

The seniors at NAHS should be able to make the decision on what color gown they would like to wear. They have worked so hard for the past 4 years that they should be able to work across that stage in the colors of the school that they have been representing. This by no means should be taken away from these students...

Not only are you taking the North Attleboro tradition away from the students you are not addressing the issue at hand. Allow the students to decide what color they would like to wear. Let the student who has worked so hard to walk across the stage to accept THEIR diploma in the color they feel most comfortable in. Not the color you think they feel most comfortable in.

If all the robes were to be the same color, kids with gender identity issues are STILL not having their voices heard — all they want is a choice. All ANYONE at NAHS wants to do is be comfortable with what they’re wearing at graduation.
