As a proud EHS alumnus I disagree with the change in the graduation cap and gown policy. Tradition : (noun) the handing down of statements, customs, beliefs, traditions from generation to generation especially by word of mouth or practice. The one beautiful thing about Eastchester is the careful preservation of tradition. It is sacred really. To shun tradition to be gender neutral is completely ludicrous. Make the gown optional for those who wish to be gender neutral.Do not make such a change which would likely affect 98% of the graduating class to make 2% feel comfortable. EHS Class of 1984

At what point do we stop bowing down to political correctness? I was under the impression we live in a democracy. Let the kids vote...... Majority Rules.......... Signed: long time Eastchester resident, parent and American

What a surprise, our grade is being treated as lab rats once again to see what works and what doesn’t. Clearly people are unhappy about the changes so keep the traditional gowns and spare yourselves the trouble.

I am shocked that such a change be made only a few months before graduation day. All these students have worked long and hard and along with the stresses of construction going on, the possibility of JazzCo not being able to perform in their very own stage and feeling like they are being robbed of a lifelong tradition at Eastchester HS.

Keep with original tradition. The seniors have had to deal with enough changes this year.
