If High Schools had proper graduations in May, when Covid was rampant, there is no excuse not to have it now. If this was a major university like TxSt, then it would be understandable. Given TLUs small numbers, there's no excuse not to allow these students to have a proper graduation!

The very nature of this program and its graduation requirements have placed these students in close contact with people. If precautions were sufficient protection during program participation, it seems they should also be sufficient for an in-person graduation ceremony.

Here’s an idea. Seguin Sports Complex. Outdoor, covered rodeo arena with stadium seating. Full refund if forced to cancel due to health concerns.

You could safely hold a graduation. If the weather permits it can be done outside, socially distanced. The limited guests could remain in their vehicles with the graduates only seated 6 feet apart wearing masks.

Graduating from college is one of greatest achievements one could ever receive. Walking across the stage with your parents watching is a humbling experience. With less than 300 students participating in graduation this year, I believe that it is possible to host a graduation ceremony while practicing social distancing. Despite all our hard efforts to make it to this monumental point, I don’t think that the school’s administration is reciprocating that same effort to provide us with an in person graduation. On behalf of the graduation class of December 2020, I ask you to reevaluate and listen to the students’ suggestions on this matter. We’ve specifically chosen this school above all others to dedicate our time, money and effort. Our voices deserve to be heard.

We have worked so hard for this. I believe that we can still observe health guidelines while walking the stage. It can be held outside, socially distanced and with masks. With an extremely limited amount of guests per student, we can walk across the stage safely.
