We, the SJHS Class of 2019, as a student body would like to see that the rule against graduation cap decorating be terminated. This simple tradition is one that we believe was stripped from our rights. By allowing us to add our own unique touch to this important day, we feel that this makes the ceremony more personal--and for some of us, this might be our only graduation ceremony. Wouldn't you want to help make this day more memorable? Of course, this doesn't have to be mandatory, and a good way to make sure designs are appropriate, we should submit our design ideas to be approved before Commencment Day.
I was able to do this at my hs graduation from NBHS in 2015; our rule was that it had to resemble where we were going in the future. So i put my future college; but others put other things that resembled their decision for the future! I hope you all consider doing this as well. Brings people together when decorating!!
