The stipend is a big factor when choosing which program to join and showing such a small change in the stipend suggests that Penn State does not care about its current students and will make it more difficult to recruit.

The inflation has significantly impact many aspects of my life and I barely have enough money to live every month. If the stipend does not increase enough to compensate for the inflation, some policies should change to allow grad students to work 2nd job to make ends meet.

A 3% increase in stipend and an 8% increase in inflation means that we are still 5% poorer than we were before, and we were already pretty poor.

The Board of Trustees cannot expect students to tackle the tsunami-like hike in inflation with an umbrella. Additionally, it's worth noting that the health insurance rates will increase too, so overall, the increase in stipend is insignificant.
