Hello! My name is Grace Maslyk, and I am interested in running for both Class Officer and President for the class of 2027! I am involved in lots of different things on campus as well as off campus. I am double-majoring in Biology and Psychology with minors in Chemistry and Theatre. On campus, I am actively involved as a Student Ambassador with a leadership position as Special Events Coordinator. I also participate in Spiritual Life through FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) and several Bible studies, and I am a member of the Honors Program, Concert Choir, and the Mount Union Players for theatre. Off campus, I serve at my church, teaching the elementary classes and leading worship. Serving the community, especially children, has very much opened my mind and heart. These experiences have allowed me to connect with a wide range of students and community members, which has helped me develop strong leadership, communication, and teamwork skills.

I believe I would be a great representative in either position for our class because I am passionate about helping people and making sure every voice is heard. As someone with unilateral hearing loss, I have learned to adapt, communicate effectively, and truly listen to others in a deeper and more intentional way. I believe intentional conversation is something our society is lacking today due to all of the distractions constantly surrounding us. I try to slow down and put this into practice every day, as you never know what conversation may be your last, or what life-changing effect words may have on you. This has shaped me into a resilient, empathetic, and inclusive leader who values every perspective.

Looking ahead, I hope to pursue a career in genetic counseling or a related field in biology and psychology, where I can continue to help others and make a meaningful impact. That same passion drives my desire to serve our class. I am dedicated, approachable, and committed to creating a strong, supportive, and connected class community. I would be honored to represent you.
