As a land owner (740 River Drive) in Sunland, it is difficult to understand how the PUD can decide to not comply to Sunland CC&R's. What makes PUD believe they don't have to follow the rules that are part of the legal responsibilities that apply to each landowner in Sunland?

PUD only meets with our community because they are required to do so and it looks good on their reports. They have never seriously considered working with us.

PUD exhibits NO respect for the community of Sunland. Working collaboratly cannot happen without respect and honesty.

We are full time residents, we pay property taxes, we support Grant County at large by supporting local business and we are frustrated & saddened by what we hear & see happening at the hands of local government officials who hide behind FERC rather than create a cooperative working relationship with our community.

It is very sad that PUD has taken out access stairs to the water on the step side of cove. The dogs don't know that they are gone, and go down the hill side anyway, in order to get to the water. We have all kinds of wild life on the lawns now. Removing grass and planting sage, will only bring back rattle snakes and other critters that we (our kids and grand kids) have to watch out for. PUD you are a sad bunch.

There has not been one constructive thing the PUD has done so far. Only destruction of what Sunland has built over the last 50 years. It is impossible for them to create public recreation for the general public. (They forget we are the public too) There is no parking for any kind of access by land and the water too shallow to access by boat. As far as a wild life habitat, it is the Sunlanders that have already created an oasis in the desert attracting more species of birds and animals than you can count. But they seem to be hell bent on destroying that as well. They have 35 miles of shoreland they could improve instead of destroying what already exists. No one can understand their vendetta towards Sunland as everything we assume they trying to accomplish, could be done with signage. They obviously have no one in charge with any kind of common sense, logic or compassion.

GPUD has not partnered with Sunland as they said they would do to build the SMP

GCPUD has lied to FERC in many instances and has taken on the role of dictator in holding this community hostage. They have consistently refused to negotiate in good faith!

Not much to say when we're up against GPUD commissioners/employees who think we've had it too good for too long. (What ever that statement means)

Ferc. Wants gpud to make more recreational property not less. The actions gpud are doing is not going to make the shoreline more inviting to anyone, not sun landers, or the general public and will not improve the area for wildlife either because there are too many people,. Sunland is for recreation and people.

Why all of the sudden you want to change everything. Been coming to Sunland for 30 years .Best family memories hanging at the water in front of my house. My kids now grand kids playing in the yard. Now you want to destroy all of that. WHY!!!!! You have done nothing for years but collect all the money for up keep. Please leave us alone. Leave our shoreline alone, leave my grass alone last time I checked I was the one mowing it and watering.

What is happening is so strange. Federal money being used haphazardly by a county, very poorly run. Tax paying citizens who have peacefully come to the Columbia River for decades (tax paying every month, every year) are being told we are interlopers? If anyone could see what is happening at Sunland, they would say it is madness.

Sunland homeowners have a right to recreate the shoreline as much as anyone else does, the difference is because we have skin in the game, we want to leave the shoreline better than how we found it. The small amount of changes done near Sunland affect the wildlife very very little, most wildlife will stay away from civilisation anyway, If we were endangering some rare species of animals or plant life, I'd be happy to see them do whatever needed to be done, but this is more like the petulant child who wants you to stay on your side of the yard. smh

What GCPUD is doing to the area in Sunland is so sad. What used to be a place along the water to go with family has become a mess. It's full of bugs and snakes etc. it's no place for families to enjoy anymore. Very sad. They have ruined the beauty of the area.

These are true statements. What GCPUD is doing has no logic and a complete waste of taxpayer monies!

The PUD is making our nicely maintained shoreline look like a demolition crew came through, and left a mess.

Grant PUD is turning the shoreline of our recreation community into a Wildlife Habitat area, unfriendly to people who have recreated there for over 50 years.
