My children were involved in the arts & honors classes - the kind of students GPS wants - and needed to take an extra course nearly every year. This policy is cost prohibitive for many families and will hurt key programs such as the performing arts. Please consider making exceptions for these students.

We already pay so much for extra curricular activities. This seems very excessive and unnecessary.

No student should be charged for education in a public school. Whether it's for band, fine arts, or choir.

Asking the GPS school board to waive $160 fee for extra class beyond 6 classes.

Fine arts students regularly carry the largest financial burden in order to participate - far above sports or other clubs. Making families in public school shoulder the costs associated with fine arts classes that are REQUIRED to be taken concurrently in order to participate in their extra-curricular counter parts (that already carry substantial fees that we parents already pay) is a burden of the budget that GPS should not be passing the buck on.
