As a Manatee County volunteer poll worker, I was outraged to the point of resigning that you appointed Mr. Satcher to the position of Supervisor of Elections over the eminently more qualified Mr. Scott Farrington. I could see no logical reason for such an appointment other than the obvious political one.

This whole debacle is shocking. I’m a lifelong Republican and have supported DeSantis but this appointment made absolutely no sense and I feel genuine distrust and concern with the upcoming election. Satcher is behaving like an angry child. I will not work the polls while he is charge. No sane person would associate themselves with it. When did experience and expertise become so devalued in our party?!!

This seems to be a recurring theme, Gov. DeSantis. Long time SoE’s conveniently decode to retire before their term is complete, and you get to APPOINT their replacement. What bother with pesky elections, when there are S-elections?!?

Not only should Satcher be removed, steps should be taken at the state level to make this a non-partisan position. Elections should be run by professionals, not by political hacks.
