Every child should have the right to see and be with their grandparents. To keep them away IS CHILD ABUSE in the worse way. They never have the chance for a relationship that will make them better adults and citizens of our country.

This is a very important topic, and awareness should be brought forth to everyone. So much suffering goes on because of Grandparent alienation, and the least we can do is bring awareness to everyone, and treat it as a serious matter, because it is!

I would like you to proclaim June 14 the as Grandparent Alienation. Awareness Day in Minnesota. This is a form of psychological child abuse, as my grandson is experiencing this at the present time. Thank you!

Governor Dayton, I am an alienated grandparent, I haven't seen my precious granddaughter in over 4 years now. We had a very special bond and my daughter has taken this away affecting my granddaughter and me, and the pain and heartbreak is killing me. This is a growing epidemic all over the USA. I am begging that you will consider making June 14th Grandparent Alienation Awareness Day. Far too many are bearing this pain and heartbreak, and have done nothing wrong! Our own adult children should NOT be allowed to get away with this any longer. I'm not sure if you have grandchildren or not, but I know you would never want this to happen to you! I never thought this would happen to me. I am grieving a living child...please, please consider this request. Thank you

Having been alienated from my only grand daughter, I can't even tell you how devastating that was to me. My health has gone down hill and my heart hurts all the time from the loss of contact. It tears families apart. It has cost me most of my retirement savings which has gone to lawyers only interested in gaining from the conflict, not in acting in the child's best interest. Times have changed. There are more mental health issues than ever before and parents with personality disorders that no one wants to identify because they cannot cure them but children are the ones who suffer the most from all things done by alienating parents. Grand parents can be the ones who check on the children to make sure they are safe and feel loved. Please sign the bill and proclaim June 14 as Grandparent alienation awareness day. Thanks!

Grandparents are an important part of healthy childrens lives. When grandparents are alienated most often it is because the parents are using drugs, mental illness and alcohol, abuse and neglect are the reasons adult children alienate their parents from their children.

Other states have recognized this day designated for awareness and education of this little known form of child abuse. Please consider proclaiming June 14th for the children and families of Minnesota. Thank you Governor Dayton for your consideration of this request.
