Water quality is beneficial to the cycle of life - this has been a huge issue & as it seems finger pointing & stances are not working. Soon this beautiful body of water will be a dead pond. Time to hit the issue hard !!! The wildlife deserve clean water !! Thank you - Lisa

If all these facts are true why are the gates to the beach on Lingan St open and why are people being allowed to jet ski and boat on West Monponsett. Where are the signs to warn people of these facts. Just asking........

Last year, the Pond had the dubious distinction of having the most number of days of closure of all freshwater bodies in MA due the excessive and unsafe levels of cyanobacteria. The levels continue to exceed established limits. Unlike the past, the ponds seem to be no longer capable of rebounding from the damming and diversion that Brockton imposes. There is a pervasive problem that needs action. Simply allowing the natural flow to occur would resolve much of the problem. Concerned citizens have exhausted nearly every means to get Brockton to do the right thing. We need your help.

Gov. Baker, when my family moved to the town of Halifax over 12 years ago, we had the pleasure of enjoying a natural treasure in our local ponds. That however was a short lived experience. My nine year old son has never enjoyed swimming in the pond because since he has been born they have routinely been closed due to this public health issue. I have been following this issue more closely for the past two years when I learned that a piece of legislation from the 60's that was put in place to address a water crisis for the City of Brockton allowed the Water Commissioner to divert water causing serious detriment to the health of our water and wildlife. Given that there is no longer a water crisis in the City of Brockton and the City actually profits from selling water to other towns like Whitman, it seems the time has come to force the City to stop the harm it inflicts on our environment. I am hopeful Governor Baker that you can address this issue which has been supported by our local State Legislators Rep Caultor and the late Rep Kennedy. My mother is a senior citizen and resident of the City of Brockton and I fear for her safety in drinking this water which is a public health hazard. We need your help. In two years the City of Brockton has not done the right thing and it looks like they only will when required to by law. Please help save our water and keep public health a priority.

Brockton should be drilling for their own water as they bring on new developement to increase their tax dollars. Inatead they continue to rely on an old law that allows them to take advantage of other towns and destroy their environments. This should be looked at by our governmental agencies rather than turning a blind eye.
