Worst service in Canada ,
throttling is just a word they use because they cannot we supply what they advertise which is also illegal . Can not stream TV on demand and had to cancel my netflix subscription due to the shitty service .

I was signed up with xplornet after I was told after explaining what I needed my internet for I had the initial installer come out and cause damage to my home by attempting to hook up the satelillite in spots where there was no signal. I had a second installer come out who did the install properly but then my internet lasted all of 4 days. How was the package i was signed up for even remotely adequate? Not to mention I've been bounced around I. Regards to the damages being repaired and money being refunded. Nothing but a scam

Xplornet is far from honest when it comes to the FAP. I finally got a strait answer from tech support stating that they throttle ALL traffic during peak unless it is web surfing or video streaming. NOT just the P2P, cloud or data storage folks but everything they deem as excessive bandwidth usage is throttled to 300 kbps. I work with PDFs' that are server based documents and they get the FAP applied to them as well.

Considering that internet is basically a utility in this day and age. It is ridiculous that rural areas are treated like second hand citizens (speeds, cap usage and price). Please bring in some competition (central Alberta) or force this company to offer a reasonable service. Nothing would spur economic growth more than this. And this let me reiterate will get you elected and re-elected quicker than anything. Force them to put all of the grant money to use and improve service in a tangible and measurable way.
Please!

Xplornet services are very slow. It varies in my case from about 60% of the paid for speed to less than 10%, most often. Their speed is reasonable for small emails but becomes very very slow if you try downloading a movie for example. Yet I pay $84 (including taxes) for 100 Gig a month and 10 MBs speed. Complaining in writing or over the phone will only get you nonsence excuses. They keep charging you the full amount however. As I'm writing this, I'm awaiting for someone at their help department to answer my call. My wait time is presently 43 minutes. Governments don't seem to mind.

High speed internet is not a luxury but a necessity for education and business and as a rural homeowner I do not have access to high speed. I live 8 Kim's from a city but cannot access high speed phone or cable internet. Over the last 14 years I have paid for 'high speed' rocket sticks and hubs with intermittent service and limited amounts of usage with overage costs ( when you could get service) that equated to piracy. The last 2 years I have had Xplornet with very slow speeds or no service at all. The speeds have been no where near the advertised and I have had my equipment already replaced once. Please do something to make rural internet both high speed and affordable. Perhaps cable and phone should be subsidized as their services are truly affordable and high speed. If our neighbours in the remote north can access high speed internet then I should also be able to access high speed internet living 8 Kim's from the city centre of orillia ontario. Companies should deliver what customers are promised and pay a premium for. # rural=second class citizen

They drag you in with a free install and after thirty days limit your internet. Why do they do that you ask because you have thirty days before your locked into your contract. They suck!!

Terrible service, but the actual Internet service they provide and customer service. They hide behind their crooked policy which basically obligates them to nothing.
First time we had issues it took months for them to finally admit that the tower we're on is heavily overloaded. Now we're having trouble again (less than a year after the first incident)........we just want out and done with them but we were forced to agree to a 3 year contract to get a reduced rate on a better package during our last round of troubles. So they won't let us walk unless we pay them money!
Our service is generally 300-500kbps even though we're supposed to be 3Mbps.
I did a speed test once at 3:00am and got less than 200kbps.......just sad.

We have struggled with Xplornet for 6 years but had no other options where we were. We "upgraded" a year ago and were told that they had learned their lesson and what had happened previously wouldn't happen again....but it did. So now we want to cancel and they want to charge us a massive contract-breaking fee even though they haven't provided what they said they would! Total crooks.

Slow speed, not what they said it would be. Customer services is geared to piss even the most patient individual off. Its a complete waste of money.
