We need Gov Rauner to sign HB 3079 into law immediately. This bill passed the Illinois House on April 15 and the Senate on May 19. Illinois currently requires one person, Intercountry Adoption Coordinator with DCFS to approve all adoption home studies for the state. These home studies have already been approved by a state licensed agency.

HB 3079 will end the need for the Intercountry Adoption Coordinator position allowing families to bring their precious children home sooner.

The Intercountry Adoption Coordinator is by law allowed 21 days to approve or deny a home study. There are families who have been waiting since at least early April!

Every day that Gov Rauner does not sign this bill is another day that families have to wait and children are left in orphanages around the world. We need him to sign this bill immediately and for the home studies to be released from DCFS.
