Gov. Christie, Take Action Now to Support the Gateway Tunnel Project

The Gateway Tunnel Project proposal would add significant capacity to the region’s 105-year-old crumbling rail infrastructure and would have the added benefit of transforming the Raritan Valley line into a direct line into the New York Penn Station. The Gateway Project represents the best strategic solution to the transit infrastrcture crisis and President Obama has cited Gateway as the Transportation Department’s most important project.
With the Federal government prioritizing this project and rail service underserved and threatened by the outdated tunnels we now rely on, the time is now for Governor Christie to act with urgency to support this project and work with all stakeholders on the funding for this critical project.

We are currently formalizing a packet of data regarding the regional transit crisis to deliver to the Governor's office. This documentation highlights the necessity of the Gateway Tunnel project for commuters on the Raritan Valley line. Expect a progress report once we have confirmed a meeting with his transportation staff.

The delays everyday are ridiculous. How are we supposed to get to work on time when the infrastructure is literally falling apart?
Get it done. We are tired of paying more for service that gets worse every single year.
Finally someone is pushing for this. The Raritan Valley line needs a one seat ride to Penn Station period.
Fix the damn tunnels already. Its embarrassing how bad the trains are in this state compared to everywhere else.
It is about time we updated something around here. Keep the pressure on.

My commute is a nightmare. Christie needs to stop playing games and fix this tunnel before it collapses on us.
