I thought google was all about good user experience. it been a few years since this problem started and i can believe it's still not fixed!!!
This is one area where you want to keep it traditional. It makes NO sense why anyone would want to get their signature trimmed!

Gmail should be about OPTIONS, Nothing should ever be mandatory, or forced, compelled, etc.

Gmail is now totally unusable for email!!!!! I am unsure what other than email it is intended for. Not only is my signature removed, but my carefully selected quotes are also removed, anything I choose to forward is removed and what appear to me to be apparently random portions of my "New content" are also removed. It is totally unusable for professional correspondence, as any email sent through gmail no matter how carefully written is censored into a highly unprofessional chat memo. It is also unusable for personal correspondence as it is impossible for me to guess which portions of my email google will let my recipient read!!! I ONLY write and send stuff I want the recipient to see!

Please stop the trimming. I hate that my name doesn't show up at the end of my emails when I sign off.

Truly, we never know what emails will look like and what will be trimmed off, until after the email is sent. Companies and users will quickly tire of playing this game and look to other providers.

I see more than one year is passed after creating this petition. And I am still facing the trimming issue. Possibly Google is thinking that the user have become used to it. Well, I didn't. I am now considering to shift to other services (yahoo, hotmail) for my formal emails.
