Maybe Michael Spyredon* that way his first name is michael because that is more of a professional name and if he chooses to go by his middle name when he is older he can.

I live in Russia, and also wanted to name his son Spyridon or Sawa, who was born on April 11, but was named Gleb. Suppose you have fulfilled your dream! My great-grandfather was the name, it seems to me a very beautiful name.

If she didnt want to name the first born son after the paternal grandfather she shouldnt have married a man that has strong family traditions. BTW Russians have the same tradition, naming the first born son after the family. She knew what she was getting into I feel bad for him!

Michael is a boring name that the wife will change anyways. Therefore, it is of little importance to her, and so many gracious concessions have been made to compensate her that the husband's obviously strong conviction should be granted without further discussion.

It is a strong, family name he will be proud of. There will be a thousand Michael's. He'll thank you for it!

I am in complete agreement with Nick. Spyridon is a very handsome masculine name. We Greeks honor our traditions and customs.

Spyridon is pronounced as "Spi -ri-don" emphasis on the Spi. His shortened name is Spiro. Ever heard of Spiro Agnew. It is a Greek tradition to name the first born after the Dad's father or Mother. Michael can be his middle name if that name has a significance.

These are issues my greek husband and I agreed to before marriage. My son is Angelo, named after my father-in-law. You can come up with an agreed nickname.
