I think its a gorgeous name and very underappreciated. why not choose Michael as his first and Spyridon as his middle (or switched the other way around)? I feel this child will love his name, especially once he learns why he was named this. :)

If you're wife already promised you to be able to name your male children, it should be a done deal then. Minimally, you could make his middle name Michael. This will honor her father, as well as give him the option later in life to go by 'S. Michael' or just 'Michael', if he chooses to. Best of luck!
