At least you'd know that he will be the only one with that name in his class at school.

Now we know why they called him Spiro. If you want to adhere to Greek tradition, move back to Greece. I vote for Michael.

Name the kid after his grandpa for pity's sake! Any difficulty as a kid will be gone as an adult and I'd bet most kids will think his "ethnic" name is cool (much cooler than their own boring American names!) Prayers for a safe delivery and blessings to your family!

Asolutely name the child Spyridon! To ignore our traditions is a slap in the face.

Kyrie Soukera, I wish you the best of luck and hope that your wife changes her mind. I was to be named Yiannis, but at the last second, my (non Greek) Dad decided to name me "Brian" at the last second and my family has such a hard time pronouncing it. I sympathize with you and will send this petition to my friends. Also, "Misha" is a girly name. Good luck! Καλή τύχη!

This is a no-brainer. Besides, Spyridon comes with the exotic sounding abbreviation of Spiro, King of Dragons.
