I vote for Spyridon. This is the dad's family trDition and a part of their culture. If the mom cannot see how important this is, I don't know what else can be argued,,,,
Growing up with a super common name that was chosen instead of a tradition based one, I honestly wish my mom had gone with tradition!

spyridon is a strong sounding name! it may not be my cup of tea, but it's unique and fun and not without purpose. it's not for the sake of just being different and unusual, it's for family and tradition and that makes it special! make Michael the middle name :)

Naming him after your father is Greek tradition. And I don't believe for a minute that anyone would have trouble pronouncing Spyridon. It is a strong, traditional name and I say go for it!
