I vote for Michael. It is important to consider what the child will have to face in life with an unusual name.

Do it. It has meaning and it's different. Most kids end up with Nick names and Ridon is better that Mike anyday!

It's a beautiful, lyrical and historical name. If the child dislikes it, he can choose a nickname.

So many family traditions have been lost, let your husband have this one. You can have a nickname for him.

Much like "Stamatia" he'll hate it when he's little, but grow to love it. It's a great ice-breaker, memorable - how many Michaels are there out there, honestly? - plus it's not too long and has an easy nickname (Spiro). Oh,and you forgot an even cooler Spyridon: Spyridon Louis, the Greek man who won the first modern marathon at the Olympics in Athens in 1896: http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spyridon_Louis
