Family heritage makes having an unusual name worth it! You can call him "Spy"! Or, quite possibly, you will end up with 5 daughters like me!

My name on this petition is NOT a YES ... but rather wanting YOU to think of your unborn child and his life, not further glorification of your own . This is the 21st century and your wife, mother of the unborn baby, has an equally legal right to name her baby. The name "Spyridon" , although historic will be difficult for a child in today's world to grow up with. Your unborn baby has his own rights as well, something you both have obviously forgotten. This unborn child has the right to not only life, but also a life in which he has a good chance of being accepted by others of his own and other generations. That could well be proven difficult with the name of Spyridon. The child could easily be made fun and / or bullied in today's world. No respon0sible parent wants that for their child. Many adults want their offspring to carry "family names" and that is normal, but allow the child his own identity in his first name. Family names fit well into the second or third names for children. Many of today's generations carry these names as such. In fact, if need be use both your fathers' names as the baby's second and third names. Think before you leap ... this affects YOUR BABY more than EITHER of YOU.

unique names are the best, this doesn't sound made up, and a quick google search shows Greek Heritage. Everyone is misspelling conventional names to make them unique, little Spyridon will be part of this name pride movement :) TOO MANY MICHAELS AND CHRISTOPHERS ALREADY!!!

while I can see why the mom is refusing (face it: it is still a rather odd sounding name), I am convinved the father should name the child- I mean come on, he's giving up the last name, the girls name and any future boys name to mommy < thats how desperately he wants this!

If she gets to name the baby after her mother if its a girl, then the father should have the same equal right if its a boy, and she also gets to pick the middle name if its a boy! put your foot down and make some of these choices yourself! kibda makes me mad that your wife gets the rights to two names and you don't to just one name! to your wife, let your husband be a man and give him his fatherly rights to name his first born son! if she wont agree with you as her husband, then you shouldnt allow her the girl name to br after her mother when she cant respect you wanting your fathers name! Also, i love the name, beautiful, now stop getting whipped by your wife and stound your ground!

Spyridon is a strong unique name. Its also his grandfathers. Many people name their children unique names especially in NY, Spyridon is a great name. Maybe Michael can be the middle name.
