I think its a great name and since its a tradition with his greek heritage and you could name any future children, why not.

April, make your boy happy and change his name. his father doesn't deserve the privilege to have a son named after him.

Since it is greek tradition, the first boy is usually named after the fathers side. If it is a girl, then its named after the mothers side. It all depends on what part of greece you are from. But Sprio is a beautiful name. You can make little nick names. I vote for naming the boy Spiyridon. Although Michael is a beautiful name as well. You can name Michael the second child you have

You can christen the baby Spyridon and give him an American name. That's what my daughter did with my granddaughter. My Greek name is Hariklia My grandaughter was christened Hariklia but her birth certficate has her as Hailee. When a Greek ask her name, she says Hariklia. My American name is Harriet.

Oh gosh let him name the boy, there will be others. If not you can always give him the middle name you want and always call him by that name. My first daughter was named after my grandmother who I promised I would name my first born daughter in her name while my grandmother was on her death bed. We are having our second child now and my husband picked out her name at age two months.

I like Spyridon is gives your child their own name instead of a well used name
