Integrate shaders into Game Maker
Today the gaming industry is very heavily graphics-oriented and keeping up with consumer demand requires keeping up with technology. Game Maker, while a very good and one-of-a-kind game development tool, is very noticeably behind the rest of the industry when it comes to graphics capabilities. The undersigned would like to express their wish to see shader programming implemented into Game Maker, which will have many benefits including: -Most current graphics-related requests can be discarded and the future number of such requests will be virtually none as shaders will allow creators almost unlimited opportunities. -Game Maker will be able to call itself truly up-to-date with current technology and will be considered by a wider range of users, bringing in more customers. -With small other additions, shaders could be used to run calculations on large data-sets very quickly, avoiding the speed limitations of GML, as long as there are provided functions to convert data to and from texture formats. -The visual quality of Game Maker creations will rise as users get easy access to effects created by others.
