I started this petition to outfox big corporations like Monsanto and others who are resisting having to label food with genetically modified organisms in it. They have powerful lobbyists in Washington who will never give up that fight. So I propose a bit of bureaucratic judo here. I propose to the FDA to create a label for natural food products that contain no GMO's. If we can't force the GMO foods to have a label then we can offer the non GMO foods the right a have a nice BIG GREEN LABEL, certified by our own government, that gives them the right to have the words GMO FREE!!! I believe this will catch on when all the companies realize they might have to change a few ingredients to meet the standards for this soon to be coveted label. We don't need to fight all the big companies in the halls of congress and in the courts. Lets go in through the back door to get this done. The GMO industry has to much at stake namely their profit margin. They won't concede. Let the honest companies have a label of their own. Then all shoppers have to look for is the food with the GREEN label on it. Shoppers will learn to avoid products the don't have the label. It's up to the FDA to create this label and the standards that have to be met by the food industry. Take that Monsanto!!!
