Light pollution is a very serious problem affecting the United States. Urban areas are causing the vast majority of this pollution. This petition is to enact alternative lighting in the larger cities of North Carolina. Glow-in-the-dark sidewalks, known as StarPaths, were designed by Pro-Teq. This technology can eliminate the harsh street lighting of Raleigh and other cities like it. These sidewalks are environmentally friendly and illuminate pathways to decrease the amount of artificial lighting needed in urban areas.
